Manage all mobile devices in your organization with Freshservice-Airwatch integration

Sitting at the beach. A cocktail in one hand and working with a smartphone on the other. Fancy, isn’t it?

Employees often use their own mobile devices to access work applications. While this is mutually convenient for them as well as employers, it poses significant risks to organizations’ business-critical data accessed through the mobiles. According to a study by security firm Upstream, in 2019 the number of malicious apps detected on Android devices, which account for a majority of mobiles in use, increased to 98,000, up 50% over 2018.

This makes Mobile Device Management (MDM) one of the key tools in the security repertoire of an organization. The reasons organizations should invest in MDM are compelling:

  1. Mobile devices are prone to security threats and MDM can help
  2. Using an MDM can minimize the costs associated with managing device sprawl
  3. Better collaboration and flexibility
  4. It simplifies the job of IT

Airwatch, one of the most widely used MDM tools available in the market, serves as a unified endpoint management (UEM) solution. Besides MDM, it equips IT admins  with Mobile Application Management (MAM) and Mobile Content Management (MCM) capabilities as well.

We recognized the need and importance of an MDM solution like Airwatch and built the Freshservice-Airwatch integration.

How integration with Airwatch helps

Currently, the asset management feature in Freshservice allows automatic scans of assets such as computers, printers, scanners, and other network equipment in your organization, enabling you to keep the asset information up-to-date through periodic scans. Through the Airwatch integration, we decided to expand the scope of the assets that can be tracked and managed in our CMDB—making Freshservice a one-stop solution.

Benefits of the integration

Single platform for all the assets—Syncing with the Airwatch tool enables Freshservice to fetch the information of all the devices that are managed in the Airwatch inventory and display it in our CMDB to serve as a single pane of glass for all the assets managed in an organization.

No more switching between portals—Asset managers can view the lifecycle of a device (such as Enrollment date of the device, the Last Login activity time, and the Last Updated time of the device) from Airwatch within the Freshservice CMDB and can also perform certain key actions without having to switch between two portals.

Easier association with built-in modules—Associating mobile devices to incidents, problems, changes, and releases are now easier for agents and the admin.

With the Freshservice-Airwatch integration, keep track of all devices in your organization without hassle.
